Rainy Day

It was raining when I left for work this morning...and it was raining all night and it has been raining all day. Normally, I would not appreciate all of this rain, but today, I like it.

The picture above is the park that is next to my house. We are just to the left of this picture....
I was shocked to see that the park was soooo flooded that the ground is not visible. Crazy...so I had to share the pic.

Happy Thursday everyone...one more day until the weekend begins!

It's almost Halloween!!!

So it is almost Halloween....It is like the beginnng of my favorite time of year. I made some dishcloths for my old boss, whom I consider a mentor. Her birthday is on halloween. She has everything you could ever think of to decorate for halloween (she has her own holiday...I would do the same thing!). I decided to make her halloween dishcloths. They can double as trivets since they're cotton...I really hope she likes them!
They are so fun...a bat and a skull! I found the patterns on Ravelry.com. I love that site!

On another note, I was doing some serious cleaning in our Master BR and Bath area and I found my Caboodle!!!! Did anyone ever have one of these? I had to have it when my mom bought it for me so long ago. I'm sure she spent like $25 on it....rediculous! Thanks Mom. Anyway, my make up was just haphazardly strewn about my dressing vanity, so I'm using the caboodle again. Mine is like this one, but mine
is clear with glitter in the plastic....I know....you're sooo jealous. Just kidding. Its amazing what you find when you clean :)

What a friend...

The only thought for today comes from Psalm 91.

Psalm 91

1 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. [a]

2 I will say [b] of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust."

3 Surely he will save you from the fowler's snare
and from the deadly pestilence.

4 He will cover you with his feathers,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.

5 You will not fear the terror of night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,

6 nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,
nor the plague that destroys at midday.

7 A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.

8 You will only observe with your eyes
and see the punishment of the wicked.

9 If you make the Most High your dwelling—
even the LORD, who is my refuge-

10 then no harm will befall you,
no disaster will come near your tent.

11 For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways;

12 they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.

13 You will tread upon the lion and the cobra;
you will trample the great lion and the serpent.

14 "Because he loves me," says the LORD, "I will rescue him;
I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.

15 He will call upon me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble,
I will deliver him and honor him.

16 With long life will I satisfy him
and show him my salvation."

Just DANCE!

Today is kind of a dreary day, so I want to share this video with everyone to bring a smile to your day. I've seen this video over and over and I still laugh every time. I think I want to be friends with these people.

Relaxing on Sunday...

Race for the Cure was amazing yesterday. There was a HUGE turnout. I knew it would be a sight to see, but it was so overwhelming and wonderful. There were so many survivors who were there. What a joy to be a part of something that is so much bigger than myself. Our group has pictures...I'll post them when I get them.

Second, I want to share something that was in the sermon this morning. It is an amazing story about a man named Nicholas Winton. This is the link to his story: http://www.powerofgood.net/

The thought for my day and week comes from him:

Do not be content in your life just to do no wrong. Be prepared to do something good every day.
--Nicholas Winton

Here a a few pics of what I've been working on. The green scarf is my first ever attempt at cabling. I LOVE it! The second is a scarf I started in a pattern called divided boxes. It is super easy and it is a nice effect, even with the chunky yarn I like.

Until next time...

Race for the Cure

My mom and I are participating in Race for the Cure tomorrow. It will be an early and no doubt cold morning, but it will be awesome to be a part of such an important event. We will be racing in memory of my mom's mom, Elizabeth Bledsoe. She passed away from breast cancer in 1976. I never met her, but I'm named after her, so I feel like she'll aways be a part of me somehow.
So ladies...let's be dillegent and do our monthly self exams. Let's stay healthy and make healthy lifestyle choices so we can continue to raise awareness and lessen our risk.
Let's Race for the Cure and continue to hope for a world where people can live with, not die from disease.
Until next time....

Rainy...Fall...Day

Its raining; its pouring. The old man is snoring. He went to bed bumped his head and didn't wake up in the morning.
Wow...we sang that song when we were kids. How morbid!
Today is another in a string of dark rainy days in Oklahoma. It seems unusually rainy for this time of the year, but according to the weather man it is not.
In my knitting world...
I'm working on the never ending scarf right now and I anticipate finising tonight. I was excited to hear this week that I have a closet crafty friend! She loves doing crafts and her family actually makes crafts everytime they get together for a holiday. What a great tradition! She and her mom seem interested in knitting, so I'm really looking forward to being able to teach someone and possibly have a new knitting buddy!
Well, my super cool boss just came and said that we can cut out early today. He doesn't have to tell me twice!!
I hope everyone has a great evening!!!
