Wow...it has been a while since I've posted. Things have been VERY busy at work and I've been working at home to get everything ready for our little man's arrival. I've been doing a lot of research, as I'm sure most first timers do. My searching has led me down several paths. The first being the importance and necessity of breastfeeding. There is so much to know and so much to find out. That led me to more "natural" methods of caring for my home and our kiddo. One of these being the "new" cloth diapers. The one I have pictured above is called the Gro Baby - soon to be called the GroVia. It is what they call a hybrid system. You have the option to use the snap-in organic cotton cloth liners or to use the disposable (all natural, biodegradable, even compostable) liners. And the best part is it fits from newborn to potty training. If you live in the OKC area and are intersted in something like this, you should check out Green Bambino. I think the most difficult part of all of this new found information is getting the family on board. Of course, we are blessed with a wonderfully supportive and open minded family, but still, when you say, "Hey, we're going to breastfeed exclusively, so that will mean we'll have to limit our visitors for the first few weeks and you might not get to see baby until he's a couple hours old because we have to get started right away with breasfeeding. Oh and by the way, we're going to use cloth diapers too." They tend to make the "what?!?" face. Thankfully we have our parents on board and now they'll most likely be the people to explain the the exended family our wishes.
